New Feature: Product Reviews

I'm back! Not been feeling to great recently - sorry for the blog interruption.

We've just added a new feature - product reviews are now dragged in from Amazon. Now you can get an idea of what everyone else is thinking about this product before you buy. Our system can pull reviews from other sites too so we'll be looking to pull as many together as we can.

I've been waiting this morning to finish downloading the full dump of Wikipedia - which we're intending to use as another source of product information. With all this stuff together you should be able to make much better purchasing decisions.

New Feature: Google Toolbar

We're still waiting on Google to add us to their toolbar gallery, but if you've got Google Toolbar installed you can add Shopperish.com right now. It'll only let you do all product search due to the limitations of the toolbar, but its easy enough to filter down once at Shopperish.com

New Feature: OpenSearch Support

We've been playing with OpenSearch again - and this time we've added support for responses. That means you can now use Shopperish at any search engine that supports OpenSearch - including Amazon's A9.com and Yahoo Alpha. Right now its not so easy to add Shopperish.com at those places - so here's a quick walkthrough:

A9.com

In order to use Shopperish.com at A9.com you need to our search to your search groups. Click the Add A Search Group link - it'll bring up a box with a listing of default groups you can add. The easiest way to search is to add Shopperish.com to your quick start group - so click the Edit Groups link.

You'll then get a list of search engines you can add. Type Shopperish.com into the search box and you'll see our listing. Click the Add button and then Done. You can now search Shopperish.com through A9.com

New Feature: Directory

We've just added another new feature. One of the things we've been looking to do recently is help customers have better knowledge of the companies they're buying from. And part of this is helping you get in touch with them when things go wrong. So we've started our beta directory:

Right now it's pretty basic. We're trying to build up the database of retailer details, and that should complete soon. And once that's done we're looking to add more features - retailer ratings and the like.

New Feature: RSS Feed for New Products

Another funky thing in beta - we set this up as a nice little addition for our Google Toolbar button. It provides an RSS Feed for new products that have made it into our top 10 for their respective category. You can find it at:

It might move in the future, but I'll put a notice on here if it does. Check it out :-)
